In its ongoing mission to bridge Kenya’s digital divide, Mawingu, East Africa’s largest Internet Service Provider (ISP) dedicated to the rural and peri-urban market, has extended its network to Kinna in Isiolo County.
The expansion will see households, learning institutions, and businesses in Kinna gain access to affordable, fast, and reliable Internet, marking another important milestone in Mawingu’s journey to make meaningful connectivity available to all Kenyans.
Today, Mawingu connects 31 counties across the country, providing Internet access to over 28,000 homes and businesses – and counting. The company aims to positively impact 1,000,000 Africans by 2028 through technology that drives inclusion, growth, and opportunity.
Speaking on the launch, Mawingu Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Farouk Ramji, noted that the move reflects the company’s commitment to connecting areas that have long remained under-connected.

Kinna, located in the heart of Isiolo County, is a growing hub for trade, education, and agriculture. With Mawingu’s arrival, residents will now have improved access to digital learning tools, e-commerce platforms, and online services, enabling greater participation in Kenya’s digital economy.
